Modern Style Villa with Separate Studio, Large Grounds, Private Heated Pool - 15mins walk to Duras!

Villas within walking distance of restaurants and shops are rare in this corner of South West France so it is with delight that we present Meynot, a modern style villa with private pool on the edge of the pretty town of Duras, famous for both its impressive ‘Château’, which dominates the square, and for the wines from the surrounding vineyards. From Meynot, follow the lane uphill for just under 1km and you arrive in Duras, where you will find a selection of shops, restaurants and an evening market on Thursdays, with food, wine and music.

Meynot itself is set in spacious grounds with a couple of similar properties as neighbours. The pool, which can be heated, is ideally placed to enjoy the views over the surrounding countryside and vineyards, whilst be conveniently close to the main house. These far reaching views can also be enjoyed from the covered terrace, the ideal place for al fresco dining and evening aperitifs. Inside, the interior is smart, well equipped and comfortable, with sunshine yellow walls in the open living area and light bedrooms, all of which have patio doors to the garden. In addition, there is a separate, self contained studio for two, which will appeal to anyone within the group seeking some privacy or independence.

Just below Meynot, on the road that leads into Duras, is the well regarded ‘Maison des Vins’, where you can sample (and buy!) the local wines and visit the museum. After exploring Duras and the wine domaines, discover picturesque villages, châteaux and gardens, boat trips on the Garonne and Lot, ziplining and treetop walks… there is plenty to see and do or you can simply while away the days by the pool.

As the covered terrace is elevated and open to the pool area younger children must be supervised at all times.
*Pool heating is available for an additional charge of £70 per week, payable in advance. Please request at least one week prior to your arrival.
Parties paying the Small Party Rate (up to 6 people) have use of the Main House only.
Please note that there is a local tourist tax to pay: £2.80 per night for guests aged 18 and over.

The Lot-et-Garonne département, with its medieval towns, valleys, hills and orchards, is beautiful and unspoilt, sometimes referred to as the French Tuscany. It is also known as the 'orchard of France' due to its swathes of fruit trees, and the weekly markets offer the freshest locally grown produce. Many of the towns are 'bastides', rich with heritage and a delight to explore, their arcaded squares nowadays filled with cafés and shops. Meynot is located on the edge, just a 15 minute walk to the pretty town of Duras, famous for both its impressive ‘Château’, which dominates the square, and for the wines from the surrounding vineyards, here you will find a selection of shops, restaurants and an evening market on Thursdays, with food, wine and music.
