As befits such an enviable situation, looking out across rolling coastal countryside to the sea and neighbouring island of Zankynthos, attention to detail has once again been given priority hence, while décor, furnishings, even the house design itself may be uncomplicated and unpretentious they are, in equal amounts, inviting and attractive. Such a harmonious balance, not easy to achieve, will certainly tempt visitors not to stray far!
Nearby, the laid-back village of Spartia (2.2km) has a minimarket for essentials, a fresh bakery and two easy-going tavernas near the square serving local specialities alongside international favourites. There is another taverna at Spartia Beach (2.7km), various other beaches to discover within easy distance and the surrounding countryside is lovely territory for walkers. For impressive views across large swathes of the island head up to the ruins of St George Castle, just off the main road to the capital of Argostoli (12km).

Being located next to Alena, and along the same access road as Charma, means Melia could be a good choice for an extended family or a group of friends who can be near to each other whilst retaining their own individual space and privacy.

Horse Riding - There is an excellent established riding school located in the village of Zervata, 4km south of Sami. A truly wonderful experience, their experienced team offer everything from 1-5 hours trips, to camping overnight with barbecue and campfire.
Melissani Lake - The aquamarine waters are simply stunning, the colours and eerie atmosphere is something you will never forget.
St George's Castle - The historic capital of Kefalonia is a great place to wander and explore. There are many alleyways, along with a wonderful old church and monastery with ancient icons on display.

Kefalonia is an island of dramatic mountains, thickly forested hillsides, pale golden beaches and a cobalt coloured sea. Covered by pine forest and carpeted with wild sage, oregano, thyme and rosemary, the entire island is surrounded by fantastic shorelines that sweep down from secret coves with white pebbles in the north to golden sands in the south. Sloping down to a coastline indented by beaches and quiet inlets, Spartia is a sleepy village located a few miles south of the capital, Argostoli. Pretty houses perch on the flowery hillsides, looking out over lush vegetation and the glistening Ionian Sea. This traditional fishing village offers bountiful natural beauty and the centre of the village is home to a small square with a few tavernas and a well-stocked minimarket. lt has a lovely sandy cove beach where you will find clear, shallow waters backed by limestone cliffs and a friendly local taverna. Spartia is well placed for a choice of activities and places to explore, all within easy reach, along with plenty of inviting beaches to discover.
